Govt decides to reopen schools in phases from June 13

Primary and education ministries have decided to reopen schools, in phases, from June 13.
The ministries declared it through a joint press briefing today.
The education ministry is planning to hold in-person classes for SSC and HSC examinees of 2021 and 2022 six days a week, said Education Minister Dipu Moni.
The duration of in-person classes for SSC and HSC examinees 2021 have been set at 60 and 84 days respectively while for 2022 candidates it is 150-180 days.
"After the classes, there will be a two-week gap. And then the exams will be hold," she said.

Students of classes six to nine will have to go to school once a week.
With improvement of the situation, the number of classes will be increased, said the education minister.
Educational institutions will open once the situation turns favourable, the minister said, adding that all preparations have already been taken in this regard.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossen said they are also planning to reopen schools from June 13.
Students of class five will attend in-person classes six days a week whereas students of classes one to four will go to school once a week, he said.
