Expatriate Minister Imran Ahmad today informed the parliament that manpower export to different Middle East destinations including UAE is reopening gradually.

He also said around 1,500 to 2,000 migrant workers are going to different nations in the Middle East daily.

The minister said this while participating during the thanksgiving motion on the President's speech.

He also said problems centering manpower export to Malaysia will be resolved soon.

The Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister said the most important role of his ministry is in sending back Bangladeshi workers abroad by developing their skills.

Bangladeshi workers have started going to different manpower markets including Romania, Croatia and Uzbekistan.

The minister told the House that his ministry has brought back around 350 Bangladeshi migrant workers from abroad who were in a distressed situation.

Imran also said the government is providing Tk 3.35 lakh to illegal Bangladeshi workers along with legal migrant workers who died in different countries during the Covid-19 pandemic.
