Water pipeline work worth Tk 10.88 crore starts in Manikganj today

Pipeline work of an underground and river water treatment plant has started in Manikganj today. The Department of Public Health Engineering's project will supply clean water in 37 districts.
The one-and-a-half-year long project will cost Tk 10,88,30,000 to build a 2.5km long, 300mm wide pipeline.
The Mayor of Manikganj municipality, Md Ramzan Ali, inaugurated the project in the Bandutia Switch Gate area of the district town, said our correspondent.
Municipal councilors Abul Kalam Azad and Kabir Hossain, Assistant Engineer of the Department of Public Health Engineering Kabul Khan, and Assistant Engineer of Municipal Water branch Golam Zakaria Liton were also present at the inauguration.
Gazi Fatima Ferdous, executive engineer of the Department of Public Health Engineering, said that Kaliganga river's water treatment project is a part of the department's clean water supply project involving 37 districts.
If this project is implemented, it will be possible to purify 350 cubic metres of ground and river water per hour. Health Minister Zahid Maleque officially laid the foundation stone of the project on February 13.
