Today marks the second day of a nationwide "all-out lockdown" to curb Covid-19 infections. Amid the lockdown, hospitals, banks, and industries are still open.

People going out during the lockdown will have to carry a "movement pass" issued by police. However, those working in the following professions do not need the movement pass.

The list of professions that are out of the purview of strict restrictions has been given by the Police Headquarters, Assistant Inspector General of Police (Media) Sohel Rana told The Daily Star.

They (emergency service providers) have to carry their work ID cards with them, he said.

Professionals who do not need movement pass:

1. Doctors

2. Nurses

3. Medical staff

4. Individuals/staff involved in Covid-19 vaccination/treatment

5. Bankers

6. Other staff of banks

7. Journalists

8. Media cameramans

9. Telephone/internet service workers

10. Private security guards

11. Officials/staff involved in emergency services

12. Office-going government officials

13. Workers/officials involved in garment manufacturing

14. Members of law enforcement agencies

15. Fire service

There are, however, allegations that many were not allowed to commute even after showing their identity cards. "It's not supposed to happen. Even then, if we find any such case, we will address it immediately," said Haider Ali Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police Headquarters.
