DIU organizes discussion on 'Transforming Higher Education, Post Pandemic-A South Asian Model'

Blended Learning Center (BLC) and Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) of Daffodil International University organized a panel discussion on 'Transforming Higher Education, Post Pandemic-A South Asian Model' on February 04, 2022, virtually. Experts from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka took part in the discussion. was present as the chief guest. The Panel Discussants were Professor Biswajit Chanda. Member, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Mr Anir Chowdhury, Policy Advisor of a2i in ICT Division and Cabinet Division, Govt. of Bangladesh, Mr Shuvo Sen Gupta, Director, My Gov, Ministry of Electronics and IT, Govt. of India, India, Prof. Bala Chandra Luitel, Dean, School of Education, Kathmandu University, Nepal, Prof. Shiva Raj Bhattarai, Dean of Academic Affairs, Royal Thimphu College, Bhutan, Prof. M S M Aslam, Department of Tourism Management, Baragamuwa University, Srilanka and Prof. Dr Md. Aktaruzzaman, Director of BLC, Daffodil International. University, Bangladesh. Prof. Dr Ujjwal K Chowdhury, Adviser to Daffodil University & Former Pro VC, Adamas University moderated the panel discussion. Speakers at the discussion urged the tertiary level institutions to get ready for incorporating and adopting blended learning and appropriate pedagogy to sustain education during and post-pandemic situations. They urged the institutions to get ready with having enough infrastructure and facilities, complied with blended learning, proper redesigned and updated courses. Speakers said that Government has already drafted a policy for conducting online education through BLC which will change the scenario of higher education. Pandemic created lots of opportunities to start digital education as well as challenges for lab classes, medical courses and engineering courses, they added.
