The grand finale of the The Daily Star Newspaper Olympiad held

The much anticipated The Daily Star Newspaper Olympiad Season 3 concluded in spectacular fashion on 23 September 2023, leaving participants with unforgettable memories. The venue for this thrilling event was the United International University in Dhaka, where enthusiasm and anticipation filled the air.
As the morning sun bathed the university premises, participants from all corners of the country flocked to the venue, transforming it into a bustling hub of excitement. The day began with a warm welcome speech from Labby Ahsan, the President of NNO, to the regional winners, gearing up everyone for the eagerly awaited grand finale.
The journey of this grand finale had started with month-long regional selections, categorized by age groups. Among the hundreds of talented individuals who vied for glory, a total of 250 participants emerged as the cream of the crop, ready to compete for the ultimate title.
At 11 a.m., the final phase of the Olympiad began, challenging the intellect and knowledge of the competitors. With an Olympiad duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes, participants faced a rigorous test of their newspaper reading and current affairs comprehension skills.
Adding star power to the event, Shihab Hasan Neyon, a renowned sports content creator in Bangladesh, graced the occasion, much to the delight of the participants. Furthermore, Samid Razzak, Vice President of a Multinational Corporation, shared invaluable insights into 21st-century youth skill development, inspiring all in attendance.
The closing ceremony commenced by extending a warm welcome to the distinguished guests of the event, including Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of United International University, and Dr. David Dowland, Registrar of BRAC University. The event was further enriched by the presence of Imran Kadir, Head of Marketing, The Daily Star, and Salman Ahmed, Senior Executive, Brand & Marketing of The Daily Star.
After inspiring speeches from these distinguished guests, the moment everyone had been eagerly awaiting arrived – the announcement of the winners. A total of fifteen participants, three from each category, were crowned champions and awarded with trophies and certificates as a testament to their dedication and knowledge.
