In this 4-day lit fest, these Rin Namkora Nari of the country are presenting their initiatives in front of famous authors, novelists and participants of the country and abroad through 'Rin Namkora Nari Stall' and are able to directly reach many people. Some came here with their plants, some with bird's nest decorations, some with their own imported cosmetics and some with their own boutique clothing.
The National Women's Football Team members were present in a panel discussion titled 'We Are the Champions'. Iti Rani, the goalkeeper of the Bangladesh National Women's Football team, while highlighting her experience in this discussion, said, "Everyone wants an identity of their own. Maybe not everyone can create that identity, but everyone has the desire. I also wanted to create an identity since I was a child. Ever since I saw Sabina Khatun, Rupna Chakma being recognised as athletes by everyone, I also wanted to be a player. I wanted everyone to know me too. There is really nothing to say about how girls were viewed by our society then or how they are viewed now. Being a girl means facing a thousand obstacles. We may have to face fewer barriers than before, but they're not completely gone. I too am here today after fighting off various obstacles. When I was young, everyone knew me as "Monojit's little girl". Now everyone knows my father as "Iti's father". My family also proudly say that this is my daughter Iti. I want our stories to inspire other girls to create their own identity."
Also, while sharing her experience, Bangladesh National Women's Football Team's attacking midfielder Shamsunnahar Jr. said, "When we came home as SAF champions, I understood how much the people of our country love football, how much they love us. The beginning was not like that at all. After coming a long way, now everyone wants to hear our stories. When I started playing football for fun in school, I had no idea of making it this far. When I was a little older, my family didn't want me to play football because they thought it wasn't a girl's game. I used to play secretly. I have been beaten and scolded a lot at home for playing. But gradually I kept doing well and in 2017, I got called to join the national team. After that, there was no looking back. My family was against it as they were ridiculed by society. But I would try to make them understand. And after becoming the champion, now when I go home, everyone in our area gathers at home. It's great when everyone knows me by name, and watches me play."
