Ovarian malignancy on the rise in Bangladesh: Speakers

Ovarian malignancy among women has been rising in an alarming rate in Bangladesh and this can be treated if it is diagnosed in an early stage, said the speakers in a seminar today (June 14, 2022).
The Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of Bangladesh's (OGSB) Chattogram unit organised the seminar in the port city's Chattogram Club. Prominent doctors and gynecologists attended the seminar.
Speakers in the seminar said there are five types of gynecological cancer. Of them, the most prevalent is cervical cancer while ovarian cancer comes second.
The gynecologists also presented a number of practical problems which was analysed by senior doctors who also provided directions to diagnose the problem using medicines, surgery, and other scientific process.
Eminent Gynecologist Professor Dr Rokeya Begum of Chattogram and Professor Dr Sabera Khatun of Dhaka presided over the seminar while Dr MA Taher Khan past president of OGSB Chattogram was present as the special guest.
Famous Indian Gynecological Oncologist Dr Rahul Roy Chowdhury of Kolkata AMRI Hospital presented at the seminar as the keynote speaker.
Around 200 doctors took part in the seminar.
