Barcelona players are supposed to show up for their medical examinations today ahead of their first official training session under newly appointed coach Ronald Koeman on Monday. Everybody, however, will looking for one picture. It will be interesting to see if Lionel Messi turns up as that could give some indication of what could come next.

Earlier reports suggested that Messi would continue to train with Barcelona as he is contractually obligated to do so.

Messi's decision to leave Barcelona has sparked waves of rumors and cross-information that will only begin to dissipate once the player himself decides to break his silence.

The latest one was that Italian giants Juventus have joined the race to sign Messi, according to L'Equipe. Manchester City have been touted as the most likely destination for the Argentine, who submitted a transfer request at Camp Nou on Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Messi, but Juve offer the unique chance for the 33-year-old to link up with Ballon d'Or rival Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin.

Another, more fanciful, report suggested that Messi, Ronaldo and Pep Guardiola would join PSG.

But there are a lot of hurdles still to overcome, including a looming legal battle between Messi, who beleives he should be allowed to leave Barcelona either for nothing, and Barcelona, who are still demaning the €700 million euro buyout clause.

Barcelona will not be holding any meeting with Messi, according to a report by Marca. Spanish football reporter Guillem Balague concurred.
