Fitbit adding snoring detection in latest update

Fitbit may soon include snoring and noise detection to its devices, which would certainly pleasure snoring spouses and partners while also pique the curiosity of those who believe snoring is an indication of a health problem.

Fitbit may soon include snoring and noise detection to its devices, which would certainly pleasure snoring spouses and partners while also pique the curiosity of those who believe snoring is an indication of a health problem.

The function allows a Fitbit's microphone (in devices that have one) to listen to "ambient sounds including your possible snoring" after you've fallen asleep, according to a report in 9to5 Google, which decompiled the newest version of the Fitbit app on Google's Play Store.

The tool is named Snore & Noise Detect, according to the 9to5 Google report, and it detects "noise including snores from you or someone next to you." It assesses the intensity of noise and looks for "snore-specific" noises. When the Fitbit detects a noise event that is louder than the baseline, it attempts to figure out if it's snoring or something else.
