Artcell, Lalon and Warfaze captivate CU
Noted Bangladeshi rock bands Artcell, Lalon and Warfaze enthralled music lovers with a mind-blowing musical performance on Chittagong University (CU) campus on Sunday.
Chittagong University CU organised the musical event, marking its golden jubilee celebrations at Central Playground of CU. A large 30,000-strong audience turned out for the programme.
CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury inaugurated the cultural event.
The programme began with a song “Shader Low Banailay” performed by renowned singer Dinat Jahan Munni. She mesmerised the audience, singing “Kurnofulir Sampanwala Amar Mon”, “Bonde Maya Lagaise” and “Ore Sampanwala, among others.
After her performance, eminent singer Tapan Chowdhury took the stage and captivated the audience with melodious songs “EiMukhoritoJibonerCholarPothe”, “Mon shudhu mon chuyeche”, “Sonar moynaghorethuia” and a local Chittagonian song “Modhu Hoi Hoibish Hawaila”.
The main attraction of the programme was an extraordinary performance by the country's eminent rock bands Artcell, Lalon and Warfaze.
When famous rock band Artcell came on stage,the audience welcomed them much applause.
The rock band started their performance with their song "Dukkhobilash". They also sang their hit numbers "TomarJonno", "Amar Poth Chola" and “Onno Somoy”. The popular band also covered a rock version of the Nazrul Sangeet "Durgam Giri Kantar Moru".
After the concert, Artcell posted on Facebook:“ In our almost 16-year career, this was the first time we performed at CU. Artcell is honoured to be a part of this historical event of CU. We look on it one of our best shows.”.
After Artcell's performance, in response to popular demand, Lalon appeared on stage.
Lalon mesmerised the crowd with their spiritual songs and rocking beats. “Khepa” moved the audience and the raw energy of "Ek Chokhe Hason Kandey" were much appreciated.
They also sang their famous song “Jat Gelo” and “Somoy Gele”. The audience gave a big round of applause when they finished their performance by singing "Pagol”.
At last pioneering metal band Warfaze came to the stage and began their performance with the songs“Oshamajik"and set the show alight with crowd favourites songs like “Purnota”, “Hothasha” and “Jotodhure Robe”.
They concluded the show with the heavy metal song “Moharaj”.
