BRSSS observes Tagore death anniversary

With the theme “Borshon Mondrito Ondhokar-e Eshechhi Tomar-i E Dwar-e”, Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha (BRSSS) observed the 76th death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.

With the theme “Borshon Mondrito Ondhokar-e Eshechhi Tomar-i E Dwar-e”, Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha (BRSSS) observed the 76th death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The concluding day's proceedings of the two-day (August 4-5) programme, held at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Central Public Library, Dhaka, featured solo and choral rendition of Tagore songs by the artistes of the organisation. 

Salma Akbar, senior joint secretary of BRSSS, delivered welcome address while Mokbul Hossain, acting president of the organisation, spoke at the programme. 

The evening began with a choral rendition of the National Anthem by the artistes. It was followed by the presentation of another choral song “Aguner Poroshmoni ChhNoao Pran-e”.

Promising singers Raiyan Khalid Sandra, Meera Mondol, Deepa Paul, Nusrat Jahan Runa and others rendered “Aj Shrabon-er Purnimatey”, “Tomar Ashim-e Pran Mon Loye”, “Shokatorey Oi KaNdichhey Shokole”, “Poth-e Chole Jete Jete” and more. 

Noted artiste Sajed Akbar performed a monsoon melody “Ami Shrabon Akashey Oi”. Both prominent and promising singers including Mokbul Hossain, Salma Akbar, Chanchal Khan, Makhan Hawladar, Tapan Sarkar, Aniruddha Sengupta, Swapnil Sajib and others rendered solos at the event.
