Chhayanaut recalls Sufia Kamal through monsoon melodies

To observe poet Sufia Kamal's death anniversary and celebrate monsoon, Chhayanut arranged a programme at its auditorium on August 1 evening. General secretary of Chhayanaut, Khairul Anam Shakil delivered the welcome address.

The  programme began with a kheyal by Asit Dey followed by chorus song “Rim Jhim Ghono Ghonore” and Jhuma Khandaker's solo rendition of Atul Prasad's “Bodhua Nid Nahi Ankhi Paatey”. Then Saikat Mukherjee sang Tagore's “Timir Obogunthone” followed by a choral rendition of Nazrul's “Amborey Megh Mridongo Bajey”.

Khairul Anam Shakil, Elora Ahmed Shukla, Latifun Julio, Satyam Kumar Debnath, ATM Zahangir, Nabonita Chakroborty, Tania Manna, Mahmudul Hasan, and Erfan Hossain rendered solo songs at the event that included many chorus numbers and accompanying dance pieces to enhance the songs.

The programme  included recitations by Krishti Hefaz and Rafiqul Islam.
