ICFF '15 comes to a close
The ninth edition of International Children's Film Festival Bangladesh wrapped up on January 29 with promise to return next year. The closing and award-giving ceremony was held at Shawkat Osman Auditorium of Central Public Library in the capital on Friday evening.
“Backbone” by Shakti Banik bagged the first prize this year, while “The Machine” by Rahatud Zaman Ranggon and “The Result” by Syeda Abrar Toaha Draha won the second and third prizes respectively. First, second, and third prize winning directors received taka 25 thousand, 15 thousand, and 10 thousand respectively.
“Uncoloured Mind” by Farha Jabin Oyshee, and “The Hands of Rosebud” by Shariful Islam Shamim bagged two special prizes.
“Shana-The Wolf's Music” from Switzerland won the Best Film Award in international category, while Russian film “Big Boy” was named the Best Short Film.
Ekrem Ergun (Germany) was named the best director, while Touqir Islam won the Best Young Filmmaker award for “The Mirror”. “Onugolpo” by Mahmudul Hoque Suzan became the best in social film category.
