Independence Day celebrated in M'singh

Marking the Independence and National Day, different socio-cultural and educational institutions organised elaborate programmes in the district on March 26.

Mayor of Mymensingh municipality Ekramul Haque Titu inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest. Professor Shah Mohammad Faruq, former-vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University and advocate Moazzem Hossain Babul were present, among others.  

Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Sangrahashala (art gallery) in Mymensingh town organised a painting competition for children at its premises marking the occasion.

Over 100 children of different educational institutions took part in the art competition in five groups. They drew on themes “The historic 7th March Speech by Bangabandhu”, “Genocide”, and “Resistance by Freedom Fighters”.

Mukul Datta, the art gallery's museum manager inaugurated the competition.

Different socio-cultural organisations and education institutions including Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) and Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU took elaborate programmes marking the day. Cultural shows by different organisations including Udichi and Mymensingh Press Club also marked the day.
