Nazrul artiste, researchers to be honoured

The authorities of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) in Trishal will honour three personalities with “Nazrul University Sammanona” for their contribution to Nazrul Sangeet and research.

Those honoured are Professor Mahbubul Haque of Bengali Department of Chittagong University for Nazrul research; Nazrul artiste Khairul Anam Shakil for Nazrul Sangeet; and Nazrul researcher Azhar Uddin Khan of India, according to university sources said.

They will be honoured on May 27, the conclusion of the three-day Nazrul celebrations on the campus marking the 117th birth anniversary of the bard.

The JKKNIU has been honouring eminent personalities since 2009 for their valuable contribution to Nazrul.
