The observance of 40 death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam ended on Sunday night.

The observance of 40 death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam  ended on Sunday night.

Participants of the programme paid heartfelt tributes to the rebel poet for his revolutionary role in life, literature and culture of the nation.

To mark the day, Nazrul Sangiskritic Jote (NSJ) Barisal organised a discussion on life and works of the poet, and staged cultural functions with songs, recitations and dance based on his works at Ashwini Kumar Hall.

Barisal Deputy Commissioner Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman was present at the programme as a chief guest. Shanti Das, NSJ president presided over the meeting.  Among others Poet Asma Chowdhury, Papia Jesmin,Suvongkar Chakrabarty and Gopal Krishna Guha Ripon addressed the programme. 

“Tobu Amare Debona Bhulite”, a Nazrul Sangeet programme, was held after discussion.
