A daylong art workshop was held on the premises of Fine Arts Department of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) in Trishal of Mymensingh October  29.

Eminent painter Ranjit Das conducted the workshop.

A total of 32 students of Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) first batch and MFA second batch of JKKNIU took part in the workshop, jointly organised by Bengal Foundation's Visual Arts programme and Fine Arts Department of JKKNIU.

Students of other batches  also enjoyed the workshop on painting, the  first of its kind in the university.

Ranjit Das said he spent the day productively by sketching  and guiding the participants through various aspects of  their drawings.

”I found some talents who could lead the Fine Arts in future if their devotion for art continues,” said Das, adding that a longer workshop would be beneficial for the students.

Didarul Hossain Limon, MFA first batch student said, ”It is a rare experience to have such a great artist with us. His drawing techniques and lessons will help us get us more experience for our future careers,” said Limon.

”This was  really a creative workshop and we need more workshops with such great painters,” said Polash Sheikh, a student of MFA second batch.

Bengal Foundation's representative artist Golam Faruq Sarker Swapon, head of  Fine Arts Department Nagarbasi Barman and  assistant professor Tapon Kumar Sarker were present, among others, at a discussion held later.
