Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef 2018
Hasn't the Super Chef kitchen always been a ground for revealing new challenges? Why would it be different this time? What started with a joke from Judge Tariq Anam eventually led to a whole new challenge for the to-be chefs. The quest for variation in food dishes had the top 11 participants battling again in the kitchen of Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef 2018.
The show reached new heights with the presence of another renowned guest, Rangan Niyogi. The famous chef from Kolkata did not only bring glee from the city of joy but also a mystery box along with him with his choice of assorted items in it. Thus, the Chef set the grounds for another exciting cook-off. “The combination in the mystery box was so tough that it made me realize that being in the Super Chef platform is no longer an easy task,” claimed Madia Sultana Tisha, who was baffled after witnessing the variety of contents like turkey, parsley, pepperoni, celery, and pulse in the mystery box.
The battle of the prongs and tongs soon saw Md. Zahidul Islam Zahid triumph with his pan grill turkey with parmesan cheese sauce, which won the test of taste this time onwards. Expressing his great relief and joy, Zahid said, “Almost all the participants got the best dish badge at least once, except me. All my hard work finally paid off in a blink with this badge.”
However, not all were as relieved as Zahid because Nur Nahar's dish, like Saika Yesmine, Monir Hossain and her own sister, Shamsun Nahar's, could not make the cut. Hence, they were brought on the brink of exit that could only be avoided with a performance that is better than their fellow competitors. In the battle that pitted sister against sister, one sister fell short as Nur Nahar had to bid farewell to the kitchen for the final time.
The show never stops, neither did the Super Chef Kitchen. Soon, the 14th episode welcomed the remaining top 10 contestants back into the kitchen. Back in a new attire of festivity, this time the kitchen hosted picnic atmosphere with jugglers and bioscope. With this, the team challenge made its surprise entry. After trying their luck out with the fortune-telling parrot, the teams for this challenge were decided and ready to take on another culinary team test. Nadia led the 'Bon Morog' as Monir held the helm of the 'Bali Hash' team. Both teams looked to prove their supremacy but most importantly, secure their own future in the Super Chef kitchen.
The team challenge saw the Bon Morog team edge past Monir Hossain's Bali Hash. As a result, Monir's team was set for another fierce pressure test where Kumkum Hazera's endeavor to prepare the best light lunch box for the daily office goers turned out to be her last in the most contested kitchen in Bangladesh.
With only nine contestants left, it is now only a matter of time until the best chef in Bangladesh is crowned. To find more and know who the ultimate kitchen survivor is, don't forget to tune into ntv, every Saturday and Sunday, at 9pm sharp.
