SSJ begins Victory Day celebrations

Sammilito Sangskritik Jote (SSJ) is holding eight-day programmes to mark Victory Day. The event was announced through a cultural programme at Central Shahid Minar in the capital on December 13 evening.

Sammilito Sangskritik Jote (SSJ) is holding eight-day programmes to mark Victory Day. The event was announced through a cultural programme at Central Shahid Minar in the capital on December 13 evening.

Noted composer and music director Sujeyo Shyam, along with veteran cultural personalities Ramendu Majumdar, Mamunur Rahsid, Hasan Arif, Golam Kuddus and others, inaugurated the programme through releasing balloons in the sky. 

The event is simultaneously taking place at eight venues in the capital—Central Shaheed Minar, Dhanmondi Rabindra Sarobor, Martyred Intellectuals' Memorial at Rayerbazar, Swoparjito Swadhinota at TSC, Mirpur University College Premises, T&T Colony Field, Donia, Uttara Rabindra Sarani, and Bahadur Shah Park at Sadarghat.

The programme features group dance with participation of over 300 organisations, group recitations, ganosangeet, street plays, children's programme, film screening and solo performances by noted artistes and artistes of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.

The event will conclude on December 20.
