BCIC hands over Novera's sculpture to National Museum
An exhibition featuring the sculptures of renowned sculptor Novera Ahmed is on at Bangladesh National Museum (BNM) in the capital.
An exhibition featuring the sculptures of renowned sculptor Novera Ahmed is on at Bangladesh National Museum (BNM) in the capital.
Marking the exhibition, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) handed a sculpture by the artist to BNM authorities, says a press release.
Chairman of BNM Board of Trustees M. Azizur Rahman, BNM director general Faizul Latif Chowdhury, former cultural affairs secretary Dr. Ranjit Kumar Biswas, artist Hashem Khan, and BCIC chairman Mohammad Iqbal attended the ceremony among others.
The untitled sculpture, measuring five feet and six inches, was done by Novera during the mid-1950s when she returned from London.
BNM authorities expressed their gratitude to BCIC for the sculpture.
