International photographic competition and exhibition at AFD

Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) is hosting an international photographic competition and exhibition titled, 'East Coast Group Bangladesh International Salon 2018', organised by Phoenix Photographic Society at its La Galerie. The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition was held yesterday.

Eminent photographer Sayeeda Khanam graced the occasion as the chief guest while renowned photographer Chanchal Mahmood attended the event as the special guest. Ajam J Chowdhury, Chairman, East Coast Group will be present at the closing ceremony and prize giving ceremony to be held tomorrow at 5 pm.

 The competition is internationally recognised by organisations like Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique (FIAP) and Photographic Society of America (PSA). It was open for submissions till November 22 to photographers of all skill levels and backgrounds.

The theme of this event is based around the word, “open.” World renowned photo organisations like FIAP, PSA, GPU, ICS, FI and BPS are participating in the event. 100 awarded images from 100 photographers are on display at the exhibition. A workshop on basic photography, conducted by eminent photographer Rafiqul Islam, will be held tomorrow.

The exhibition, opening from Monday to Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to12 noon and from 5 pm to 8 pm, will run till tomorrow.
