Rumy's Mythical Mind at AFD
A solo art exhibition titled “Mythical Mind” by A.R. Rumy began at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka on August 16.
The artist sees himself as a lonesome diver into his scarred soul and from that dimension creates and dissolves the unreal boundaries of past, present and future. He strives to portray a reality with which viewers may joyfully see a connection beyond the boundaries of division, diversion and diversity.
A. R. Rumy believes that love is the focal point of life. He has an acclivity to seek knowledge which is imbued with beauty and mystery on one hand; yet open to introspect, examine and question, on the other.
Born in Natore, Rumy did his BFA from Rajshahi University and MFA from University of Development Alternative. He is an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Development Alternative. In 2006 he held his first solo at Chuwa Gallery, Tokyo, Japan. Besides, he has also participated in a number of group art exhibitions at home and abroad.
The exhibition remains open from 3 pm to 9 pm (Monday to Thursday) and from 9 am to12 noon and 5 pm to 8pm till September 2.
