A Bangladeshi short film titled “20 Continuous Shots Followed by Siddharth”, written and directed by Abid Hossain Khan, will participate in the International Competition of the 26th edition of Curta Cinema Festival. Known also as the Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival, the event will begin from November 3-9 at the Brazilian capital.

With the motto of promoting diversity and vitality of nationally and internationally-produced short films, this year more than three thousand projects were submitted, among which only 28 films from 21 countries were short-listed for the International Competition.  Some 25 Brazilian films were selected for the National Competition. The winners of the National and International Grand Pix will qualify for Oscar nomination by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The helmer Abid Hossain Khan had previously won Celebrating Life Film Competition Award. His debut short film “20 Continuous Shots Followed by Siddharth” depicts the story of a young man who decides to live in a slum, seeking the meaning of his existence in life.

In the short film, Abid himself acted as the protagonist.
