First look at Cumberbatch's “Dr. Strange”

A few glimpses of Doctor Strange in action were revealed last November, when Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor were spotted filming in Nepal. While Ejiofor was in full Baron Mordo gear at the time, Cumberbatch was still in civilian gear. Then in December came the EW cover story, with Cumberbatch all gussied up in Strange's gear — impossibly high collar, Eye of Agamotto, and all. But now, after filming for a significant time at the Pinewood Shepperton Studios outside London, Doctor Strange has gone back on location, this time on the streets of New York City, and the first look of Cumberbatch's fully costumed Sorcerer Supreme mode in action is finally out.
The psychedelic entry into Marvel's catalogue is directed by Scott Derrickson from a script by Jon Spaights. Doctor Strange also stars Mads Mikkelsen as an evil “sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect,” Rachel McAdams as “a fellow surgeon that has a history with Strange,” Tilda Swinton as the gender-swapped Ancient One, and Benedict Wong as Strange's trusted associate, Wong, as well as Michael Stuhlbarg, Scott Adkins, and Amy Landecker in undisclosed roles.
The movie is set for a North American release on November 4.
