Short film “Fera” screened

Young filmmaker Mainul Shahid's short film “Fera”, based on Shawkat Osman's popular story “Dui Musafir”, was screened on Friday at the National Art Gallery Auditorium of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The film was one of the four selections of the October session of Moviyana Film Society's “New Films, New Filmmakers” programme. The other films were Mollah Shagor's “Dadu”, Masum Billah's “Comrade” and Viki Zahid's “Momentous”.

 “'Dui Musafir' was in our secondary national curriculum where I read it first. Because of its structure and subject, I fell in love with it. Completing post graduation from Department of Film and Television Studies of University of Dhaka, I had the chance to convert it into film,” the director says.
