Captain Jack Sparrow over and out!

Internationally acclaimed star, Johnny Depp, will no longer be playing his fan favourite role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean films. Stuart Beattie, the revered screenwriter of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise confirmed in an interview that Johnny Depp's days of playing the rum-soaked, witty character of Captain Jack Sparrow have come to an end as Disney plans a major reboot of this multi-billion dollar franchise. The actor has been dreadfully tangled in financial and personal troubles over the past four years and the franchise had begun to suffer because of his transgressions.
