Marilyn Monroe, one of the most discussed film stars of all time, was poorly paid throughout her career. Though she couldn't overcome her financial distress, Monroe went on to become of the most popular Hollywood heroines. In 1962, she was fired by Twentieth-Century Fox from the production of “Something's Got to Give” because of her chronic lateness and absence during first two weeks of shooting. Later, just four days prior to her death, Monroe was rehired by Fox on a $1million deal. She died poor, but at present her estate makes around five million dollars a year.
