Director and screenwriter Arun Chowdhury is a name of great repute in the television industry. Since last year, the director has broken into the silver-screen, and is currently working on his second venture. In a recent interview with The Daily Star, he discusses his new project, 'Chehara' and more.

What was the first tele-fiction you've worked on?

In 1994, BTV had aired my first tele-fiction, Shudhu Tomar Jonno. Suborna Mustafa and Afzal Hossain played starring roles in the story. After that I had the opportunity to direct a show for BTV starring Moushumi, and then my career took off.

How was your first film received?

I tapped into the big-screen with Altabanu which was released this year. It took me two years to work on the film. The feedback around the film was immensely positive, and it was screened at film festivals in Dallas and Canada.

What are your plans regarding your next film?

The title of my new film is Chehara and shooting is slated to commence from November. At the moment, the main cast includes Fazlur Rahman Babu, Tisha, Yash Rohan, and more. I will produce the film along with Anwar Azad. Filming will take place in Daulatdia.
