Happy Birthday Moushumi!

Moushumi's link with Dhaka cinema goes back over two decades. In her long career span, she has come up with a number of hit movies. The National Film Award winning actress has also ventured into direction. Today is her birthday. In a recent chit-chat with The Daily Star, she shared many memorable moments on the occasion. 

What are your fondest memories of a birthday?

Moushumi: My father always surprised me and it was the greatest part of my birthdays. I remember when I was a college student, he gifted me a watch worth about Tk 25,000 on one of my birthdays. It still resonates in my mind. Besides, he cooked for me on the day. I miss those days.

What's your birthday plan this time?

Moushumi: No big plans, to be honest. I will stay at home and spend time with my family. I get a lot of good wishes on the day from friends, family and well-wishers. There is nothing bigger than people's love.

Tell us about your childhood birthday celebration?

Moushumi: Every birthday was a big celebration during childhood, and those days are etched in my mind. My school friends came to wish me at our home. I still miss those celebrations.

What's your wish on the day?

Moushumi: I want the best for the people of our country. Love your county, its people and culture. I also seek everyone's blessings on my birthday.
