“I've already done eid shopping for my daughter”
Actress Badhon is a well known figure on the small screen. She also does the occasional modelling and anchoring assignment. Eid is a busy time for Badhon both on the professional and personal fronts. The TV actress talked about Ramadan, iftar and Eid shopping in a conversation with The Daily Star.
Do you manage to have iftar at home?
Badhon: I can't due to a tight shooting schedule. I often take iftar on location but this time I took iftar with my family on the first day of Ramadan. To tell you the truth, I avoided shooting that day.
What's your favourite iftar menu?
Badhon: I live on yogurt and lemon juice. I usually avoid fried stuff during iftar.
Do you cook iftar delicacies yourself?
Badhon: I prepare specially dishes like hotchpotch and custard occasionally but mostly my mother does the cooking.
Do you go out for sehri?
Badhon: There is no such culture in our home. However, I plan to go out for sehri in old Dhaka with my daughter and my family one day.
Any cherished childhood memories of Ramadan?
Badhon: Though it was very hard, I managed to fast when I was child because our family was very encouraging. I vividly remember my joy when we sighted the Ramadan moon.
Who usually does the Eid shopping?
Badhon: I do it. I've already done the shopping for my daughter.
How do you manage to juggle the demands of the family with your roles as actress, anchor and model?
Badhon: It is possible by being organised. However, since I only do the occasional anchoring and modeling, it is manageable.
