Moushumi's ambitious film debut
Popular TV actress Moushumi Nag's debut film “Runout” released across the country on Friday. In a conversation with The Daily Star, the celebrated actress talked about the film and her Durga Puja plans.
What's your gut feeling about the film's success?
Moushumi Nag: It released in 100 cinema halls across the country. I'm hopeful about its success as I've received very positive feedback so far.
Tell us about your role in the film...
Moushumi Nag: You can term me as a rough and tough character in the film which is about the dark underworld. It was a really challenging role.
Did you get into the skin of the character?
Moushumi Nag: Yes, 100 percent. Not just me, the entire unit put in their best to make “Runout” a success.
Why would the film appeal to the audience?
Moushumi Nag: For many reasons. Firstly, it has a very strong plot. Secondly, it was shot in eye-soothing locations. Finally, the storyline is full of suspense from the beginning to the end.
How does it feel to make your debut in a commercial film?
Moushumi Nag: I felt very happy acting in the film. I really want to do more such films--but it will depend on the storyline.
Do you plan to see your film in a cinema hall?
Moushumi Nag: I had planned to go to a number of places for the film's promotion. But I could not do so according to plan. But I will go to Jamuna Future Park and Star Cineplex to watch the movie.
Where will you celebrate Durga Puja?
Moushumi Nag: I will go to my father's home in Ashulia on the outskirts of Dhaka. I think it will be great fun.
Your childhood memories of Durga Puja?
Moushumi Nag: I have many fond memories of Durga Puja celebrations. We would eagerly await the festival and those days remain with me.
