“Leading a simple life is what I believe in, but singing songs for people makes me feel special,” Tanveer Alam Swajeeb said in a recent interview with the correspondent. Swajeeb, a popular musician, composer, music-director, and a lyricist recently went to Perth for a solo music concert.

“Leading a simple life is what I believe in, but singing songs for people makes me feel special,” Tanveer Alam Swajeeb said in a recent interview with the correspondent. Swajeeb, a popular musician, composer, music-director, and a lyricist recently went to Perth for a solo music concert.

“The show was initiated by Tasnimul Habib, and three other Bangladeshis who live in Perth. It was for their interest in music that I was able to perform there,” said Swajeeb.

“The audience was superb and so was the scenic beauty. I held my breath and soaked up the view, and started snapping great shots of the city.

The spotless environs filled my heart with gladness. I have travelled far and wide, met people who love the way I sing and have come across many who love music just as a form of entertainment. But in Perth, I experienced the warmth of the audience which made me feel that I was home.”

“The promotion was that I would sing songs on audience request, and I had to sing a wide variety -- beginning from Manna Dey songs, semi-classical, SD Burman, Nazrul songs, Hemanto Mukhopadhyay to Ajoy Chakrabarty and many more.

Performing in each of the songs, I felt that I was in a different dimension of melodies.”

Swajeeb has a diploma in music from BAFA, mainly focusing on Nazrul Sangeet but now he sings Lalon Sangeet and classical songs as well. He did his higher studies in sound engineering from Toronto School.

So far he has released two albums and his songs have stirred many hearts.
