Lyricist and composer F H Sarkar Swapnil no more

Talented lyricist and composer Fazlul Haque Sarkar Swapnil is no more.

He breathed his last yesterday at 11pm, at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD).

His nephew told several media outlets that the composer was feeling unwell when he was taken to the hospital. After going back and forth with four hospitals, he was finally taken to the emergency of NICVD. The doctors immediately began his treatment there, but could not save him.

The artiste was laid to rest at 4 pm today, at Azimpur graveyard.

Swapnil had written lyrics for noted musicians Bappa Mazumder, Sandipan Das, and Haimanti Rakhsit Das among others. He was also a singer. He earned popularity in 2006, for his composition and lyrics for Shondipon Das's solo album "Ay Praner Utshobe". Bappa Mazumder had arranged the music for this album.

Bappa Mazumder posted a picture with Swapnil on social media, writing, "Swapnil da is no more with us!" He went on to write that cannot bear the pain anymore, as a few days ago, he also went through the loss of lyricist Russell O'neil.

The lyricist had penned the track "Jolchhaya", which was voiced by Bappa Mazumder and Nodi. The track earned immense appreciation.
