Sumon Chowdhury and Shaheen Samad to be honoured at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy today

On the occasion of Kazi Nazrul Islam's 119th birth anniversary, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has arranged a programme from June 30 – July 1 at their Music and Dance Centre Auditorium. Luminaries Sumon Chowdhury and Shaheen Samad will be honoured with the Nazrul Sangeet Shilpi Parishad award. Sumon Chowdhury is one of those rare musicians who has expertise in both Rabindra and Nazrul Sangeet. Shaheen Samad, a noted Nazrul Sangeet singer, received the Ekushey Padak in 2016. The prestigious award will be handed to the recipients by Ferdausi Rahman, the President of Nazrul Sangeet Shilpi Parishad.
