Jake Gyllenhaal joins “Life”
Sci-fi thriller “Life”, penned by “Deadpool” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, has already attracted some top shelf talent, but it just added another in the form of Jake Gyllenhaal.
Daniel Espinosa, the man behind “Snabba Cash” and “Safe House”, will direct “Life”, and Variety reports that Jake Gyllenhaal has just joined the science fiction party. And he's only the latest big name to sign up, as “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds has agreed to reteam with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and “Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation” breakout star Rebecca Ferguson has also been cast in a key role.
There isn't a lot to know about what “Life” entails at this point. The story revolves around a crew of astronauts on the International Space Station. They discover life on Mars, only to realize that it is much more intelligent than they originally anticipated.
The casting notice doesn't indicate who Jake Gyllenhaal is going to play in “Life”, but given the available plot description, the assumption is that he will be one of the astronauts trying to survive whatever horrors the extraterrestrial menace presents.
