Kelly performs 45-minute song

There's no doubt that R Kelly's had an interesting life, but now the singer has told it in a brand new way that's oh so fitting – through song. Around a recent cover story interview with GQ, Kelly also gave up a 45-minute performance that's part talking and lots of singing, chronicling everything from an episode growing up where he was shot riding his bike down the street, to busking on the streets and how he found his voice singing in the shower. 

“Man I tell you, I've seen a lot of junk coming up,” he said in a breakdown moment early on in the video. “I've been through a lot. My mom, my family, though we had not much of anything, we had family, we had us, we had love and I believe, no I know that that's what got us through. That's what landed me here.” 

And then jumping back into song, he continued, “I fell from the sky, landed on the ground.”
