Swift announces “1989” concert special
Taylor Swift is surprising fans — and Apple Music subscribers — by announcing a free concert special of her star-studded “1989” tour, exclusively for subscribers of the streaming platform.
Swift revealed the news Sunday, her 26th birthday, via her Twitter. “The 1989 World Tour LIVE” will hit Apple Music on December 20.
The special will not be available for purchase, but will stream live for Apple Music subscribers.
The show was filmed at her Sydney, Australia, concert, in front of a crowd of 76,000 fans at ANZ Stadium on November 28. In addition to showing the entire performance, it will also include footage backstage and from rehearsals.
The special will also feature heavily publicised surprise guest stars including Mick Jagger, Kobe Bryant, Justin Timberlake and more.
Swift's mega-selling “1989” recently snagged seven Grammy nominations. Apple Music is currently the only platform streaming the album.
