Ariq Anam Khan’s ‘Transit’ to be screened at Clermont-Ferrand Int’l Short Film Festival and Dhaka Int’l Film Festival
Director and writer Ariq Anam Khan's short film, "Transit", will be screened at the highly prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France and at the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, in 2021. Previously, the film was part of the main competition at the renowned Busan International Film Festival in October and Encounters Film Festival in the UK.
The Clermont-Ferrand Festival is one of the biggest short film festivals and film markets in the world. It is regarded as the biggest and most prestigious film festival in France after Cannes, and it is also an Oscar-qualifying festival.
From nearly 7000 submissions this year, only 78 films were selected to be part of the main competition of the festival – where "Transit" will be screened. The 42nd edition of the festival will take place from January 31 to February 7, 2021.
In addition, the Bangladesh premiere of "Transit" will take place in January at the 19th Dhaka International Film Festival. For the first time, audiences in Bangladesh will be able to watch the film between the 16th and 24th of January 2021.
Jahangir Alam has played the main role in the film. Other key cast members are Sharmeen Akhee, Baidya Nath Saha, Khairul Alam Tipu, Sharif Hossain Emon and others. ET Ng is the cinematographer, Sameer Ahmed is the editor, and Arafat Mohsin is the composer of the film.
Due to the current global pandemic, both festivals will be taking place on a slightly limited scale.
