Art in the time of corona

ICCR invites artists through an open call

Under the theme ‘United Against Corona – Express Through Art’, The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has declared a global art competition to raise awareness on the rapidly spreading coronavirus. ICCR has invited artists across the globe to submit their artworks, expressing their thoughts on the fight against the pandemic, through an open call. The best artworks will receive major prizes and will be showcased online and in physical exhibitions in national galleries in India and abroad, in the future.

Under the theme 'United Against Corona – Express Through Art', The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has declared a global art competition to raise awareness on the rapidly spreading coronavirus. ICCR has invited artists across the globe to submit their artworks, expressing their thoughts on the fight against the pandemic, through an open call. The best artworks will receive major prizes and will be showcased online and in physical exhibitions in national galleries in India and abroad, in the future.

Interested participants can send their works to ICCR by May 1, 2020. The categories in the competition are: Contemporary Art, Folk & Tribal Art, Cartoons & Illustrations and Digital & New Age Art. The event is open to professional artists, amateur artists, students and children.

Both foreign and Indian participants will vie for the best awards in all the categories. The top foreign artists will receive prizes in USD. Professional artists will receive $ 2,500, $ 1,500, $ 1,500 and $ 1,500, amateur artists will receive $ 1,500, $ 1,000, $ 1000 and $ 1,000 and children and students will receive $ 750, $ 500, $ 500 and $ 500 for the categories, Contemporary Art, Folk &Tribal Art, Cartoons & Illustrations and Digital & New Age Art, respectively.

The best Indian participants will receive prizes in INR in the same four categories with the amounts:   Rs 150000, Rs 100000, Rs 100000 and Rs 100000 (Professional), Rs 100000, 70000, 70000 and 70000 (Amateur), Rs 70000, 30000, 30000 and 30000 (Children/Students). ICCR will sponsor the visit of all the winners at an award function in Delhi, India. Interested artists can submit their artworks following the proper guidelines on https://iccr4art.com/index.php.
