Bassbaba Sumon admitted to ICU in Bangkok
Eminent rock musician and founder of the band Aurthohin, Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon, better known as Bassbaba Sumon, was admitted to the ICU of the Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok today.
The news was confirmed by Razu Ahmed, the manager of Aurthohin. "After completing his primary check-up, he (Sumon) was shifted to the ICU for observation as his health deteriorated," he said.
The legendary bass player, who has been battling cancer for a while, also needs spinal surgery due to an unfortunate accident that occurred previously. The surgery was supposed to take place in Germany, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the country is not issuing new visas for non EU Nationals.
"If the situation changes in Germany, we will look forward to going there and complete the surgery, as it is crucial for him," said Razu.
