Bengal's Art Writing Workshop concludes
With the announcement of initiating an Art Writers' Hub, a four-day Art Writing Workshop organised by the Arts Programme of Bengal Foundation concluded on August 2. Conducted by artist, writer and critic Mustafa Zaman, the workshop provided precise and methodical lectures to enable the professionals of the field to achieve the next level.
The workshop became a platform for exchanging ideas, analysing some best examples of art writing from home and abroad and reviewing works of the participants.
At the end of the first three-day session of the workshop, the participants took an interval to write features about different topics of art. August 2 was the final session where their features were reviewed by Mustafa Zaman and later certificates have been distributed among them.
To continue the discussion and practice of art writing, Bengal Foundation is initiating the Art Writers' Hub where anyone can join. The hub will provide platform for the writers and publish their write-ups through a blog and regular publications by the Arts Programme.
The Arts Programme supports the visual arts ecosystem at large, including artists and also curators, researchers and critical writers. Under this holistic approach, it invites all actors in the field to engage on a day-to-day basis with the small and medium-sized initiatives of uncompromising quality, while always trying to maximise their impact on the local and regional arts scene.
