Bollywood stars rush to Salman's home after verdict

A flock of Bollywood celebrities swarmed in actor Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai after he was convicted of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and given five years in jail on May 6.

The news daily NDTV shows a few photos of the celebrities to show support to the convicted star.

Salman arrived home from the Sessions Court to a houseful of celebrity friends. The 49-year-old star of films such as Dabangg and Kick was sentenced to five years in jail for drunkenly driving over five pavement dwellers in 2002, killing one.

He was granted bail till Friday by the Bombay High Court. After the verdict was pronounced, co-stars such Preity Zinta, Sonakshi Sinha and Rani Mukerji were the first to rushe to the Khan residence in Bandra.

Actress Rani Mukerji, Salman's co-star in films like Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, arrived dressed in white.

Salman's ex-girlfriend Sangeeta Bijlani, a regular at most Khan family gatherings, was among those who visited Salman's home.

Family members present included Salman's sister-in-law Malaika and her son Arhaan.

Sonakshi Sinha, co-star of the blockbuster film ‘Dabang’ and Preity Zinta hide from the cameras as they made an exit from Salman's home.

Salman's protege Pulkit Samrat was at Galaxy Apartments as well. He tweeted, "Today I wish he wasn't a superstar.

Composer duo Sajid Wajid, the men behind many a Salman soundtrack, visited the Khans as well.

Malaika's husband Arbaaz Khan and filmmaker Atul Agnihotri, who is married to Khan sister Alvira, attended to guests.

Among the visitors was BJP spokesperson Shaina NC, who received flak for this tweet that she later deleted: "Sad sad sad as we accept the honourable courts verdict only hope and pray fr least sentence @BeingSalmanKhan @khanarpita"

One of Salman's closest friends, actor Suniel Shetty, came to visit the star.
