BotTola celebrates Tagore’s birth anniversary virtually
As a poet, playwright, novelist, musician and painter, Rabindranath Tagore remains one of the greatest literary personalities. His creations for children are particularly noteworthy. He has written numerous books of rhymes and poems for children, such as Shishu, Shishu Bholanath, Khapchhara, Chora O Chobi, Golpo Solpo Kolpona, Shohojpath and many more. Tagore wrote his first poem when he was only eight years old. In 1877, when he was 16, he published his first large poetry collection.
Celebrating Tagore's 159th birth anniversary, BotTola hosted a unique webinar, titled Golpo, Kotha o Kobitay Amader Kobiguru Rabindranath. Students of Shobdopapri, Mostafiz Academy of Fine Arts, participated in the programme, hosted by Liza Chowdhury.
Commencing the show with the poem Dusshomoy, Liza Chowdhury shared stories about the poet and his creations, in light of his childhood. Participants Aditya Bhattacharjo, Aditi Roy, Sidratul Muntaha Masud Swaccho,Masrur Reza Raiyan, Farhanaz Parisa, Nuriya Soumi Khan, Sabah Olin, Sumaita Nusaiba, Samrin Fatima Mahbub and Mahita Tahsin Kaiyum recited different children's poems by Tagore. Jhunjhuni, the puppet, added a delightful element to their performances.
