Dwijen Mukhopadhyay passes away
Renowned composer and singer Dwijen Mukhopadhyay passed away yesterday at the age of 91, at his home, in Kolkata. He has been suffering from lung complications for the last few months. Previously, he was also admitted several times to Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial Hospital, Kolkata.

Mamata Bandopadhyay, current Chief Minister of West Bengal, along with many cultural personalities, is mourning the death of the beloved Tagore artiste.
“Dwijen Mukhopadhyay was an extremely talented soul,” said Mamata Bandopadhyay. “We lost a precious gem.” The Chief Minister further added that a cremation ritual will take place in honour the deceased.
Dwijen Mukhopadhyay was also awarded with the Padma Bhushan in 2010 and Banga Bibhusan in 2011.
