Entry to BFDC to be prohibited after 8 pm
Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) authorities and leaders of several film organisations held a meeting on July 9, with various demands. During the meeting, they unanimously decided that no one will be allowed to stay inside the BFDC, except for shooting or dubbing purposes, after 8 pm. All the associations have to follow this rule.
In recent years, many have complained about the after-hours chitchatting and leisure activities inside the BFDC.
Khurshed Alam Khasru, President of Bangladesh Film Producers' Association, elaborated on the issue. "There have been rumours about people taking drugs inside the compounds. The BFDC is a government institution and there should be strict rules, after such allegations."
"Most government offices are open till 5 pm, whereas we are letting people work till 8 pm," adds Nuzhat Yeasmin, Managing Director, BFDC. "This new rule will be effective soon."
