Ghostbusters sequel in the works

According to a report from The Wrap, plans are already in motion for a sequel to Paul Feig's female-led reboot to Ghostbusters starring Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon.

Speaking to the outlet, president of worldwide distribution for Sony, Rory Bruer said the Ghostbusters world is alive and well and expects Ghostbusters to become an important brand and franchise. He finished saying there's no doubt in his mind a sequel will happen. Ghostbusters came in second place during its first weekend in theaters, grossing an estimated $46 million from 3,963 screens.  The film is on track to unseat the 1984 Ghostbusters as the highest grossing horror comedy of all time.
