Bangladesh Society of Oriental Art, in collaboration with Bangladesh National Museum, organised International Oriental Art Biennial Bangladesh 2019 at the Nalinikanto Bhattasali Gallery of the museum in the capital, recently.

Bangladesh Society of Oriental Art, in collaboration with Bangladesh National Museum, organised International Oriental Art Biennial Bangladesh 2019 at the Nalinikanto Bhattasali Gallery of the museum in the capital, recently.

Presenting a brief concept of the origin of oriental art during the inauguration of the exhibition, Professor Nisar Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, spoke about historic tragectory of oriental art in this region and its importance. Noted artist Professor Dr Abdus Sattar, eminent artists Professor Farida Zaman, Professor Nasreen Begum, Afroza Jamil Konka, Dr Mizanur Rahman Fakir, Tajul Islam, along with Md Reaz Ahmed, Director General of Bangladesh
National Museum and Emranul Huq , Additional Managing Director of Dhaka Bank attended the programme as guests of honour.

The exhibition showcases 150 artworks by 92 local artists and 18 foreign artists from countries like India, Pakistan, Nepal, China, Cuba, France and Japan.

The open to all exhibition will conclude tomorrow.
