Javed Jalil's “Cryptic Monologues” at EMK Center
To celebrate the 5th founding anniversary of the Edward M Kennedy Center for Public Service and the Arts (EMK Center), the organisation is jointly arranging a fortnight-long solo painting exhibition with ARTCON from October 2 to October 15 at EMK Centre, located in the capital's Dhanmondi, says a press release.
Titled as “Cryptic Monologue”, the works of Javed Jalil will be open to public viewing from 10am to 8pm daily, with the exception of being closed on Friday. The paintings explore the journey of the artist, which is inspired from his time in Los Angeles, as he struggles to make sense of the physical world around him in relation to his internal reality. The physical and the non-physical juxtapose in his works to make up the “cryptic monologues” as he finds order and durability in his journey.
