'Jyoti Sanghita' to tour three districts

Habiganj-based theatre troupe Jiban Sanket Natyagoshthi, with assistance from Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, will tour three districts with their play “Jyoti Sanghita”.

Habiganj-based theatre troupe Jiban Sanket Natyagoshthi, with assistance from Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, will tour three districts with their play "Jyoti Sanghita".

The troupe will stage the much-acclaimed production in Chittagong this evening at the Shilpakala Academy in the port city.

On March 16, the play will be staged at Cox's Bazar Sangskritik Kendra in Cox's Bazar. And the next day, Jibansangket Natyogoshthi will travel to Comilla where the play will be staged at the Town Hall.

Set against the backdrop of the Liberation War, the play reflects on freedom fighter of Bhati-Bangla, Jagatjyoti Das and his Dash Party through depicting a conversation between the youths of 1971 and the present time.

Written by Ruma Modak, the play has been designed and directed by Sudip Chakroborthy.

Iqbal Chowdhury, Ruma Modak, Shantanu, Murad Ahmed and Sourav Deb are in the cast among others.
